Taobao technically has support for international shipping and every now and then someone things they are smarter than everyone else and can skip the agents and cut costs.
Usually that leads to quickly finding out that Taobao doesn't ship to their country, the items are not supported, they can't create an account or none of their payment methods are accepted. There are many possible pitfalls with Taobao direct international shipping.
I tried really hard to do direct shipping with Taobao and I couldn't get it to work, and I have a spotless legacy Taobao account.
If you have time you can try to see if it works for you. But for most people we recommend going with an agent right away. Yes, you pay a premium, but you shouldn't underestimate the worth of their service, particularly the QC pics.
